One study with chlorella involving mice with cancer showed a 70% survival rate after 60 days. The control group that didn’t get any chlorella all died. Another study involving humans suffering from glioblastoma showed a 40% survival rate after 2 years compared to what should have been about 10% for this very deadly form of cancer.
These are very significant results when you consider that in the study on humans they were only administered 20 grams per dose, which is an extremely small dose for such a powerful disease. Had the patients been given more chlorella the survival rates almost certainly would have been much higher.
Chlorella helps protect the body in its fight against both viruses and cancer. A series of studies during the 1980s showed that tumor growth in mice could be reduced or stopped by injecting a water solution of chlorella around the neoplastic growth. Even tumor regrowth was cut down significantly. In another study by the same researchers, tumor cells were killed completely by the chlorella injection. The researchers then began to give chlorella in oral form, and the antitumor effect was still significant.

In the studies refered to by Donald Yance it appears chlorella may be a potential cure for cancer. Note that in some of the studies the cancer cells were “killed completely”. Obviously a lot more research needs to be done on these superfoods, but unfortunately funding is very hard to get due to the fact that naturally occuring substances cannot be patented. No patent, no profits.
A study on chlorella published in Japan in 1992 showed that chlorella has impressive effects on blood chemistry. It increased red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and albumin.
